City leaders will meet again today to discuss Topeka's 2014 budget.
On Saturday, the Mayor's Office, the City Manager's Office and the Communications' Office presented plans for next year.
City Manager Jim Colson says the city's revenue are such that he's asked each department to find a way to cut 5% from 2014's budget.
Colson has proposed a plan that is a mix of higher taxes and some cuts to services.
Colson's plan mostly spares police and fire from having to make drastic cuts.
The city council hopes to finalize the budget by August 20, 2013, it isn't due until August 25, 2013.
