Join more than 15,000 people in Wamego on Thursday for its all-day carnival, parade and fireworks extravaganza at the Wamego Recreational Complex.
Celebrations start at 9:00 a.m. and include car and tractor shows, ice cream socials and a carnival. The parade starts at 6:00 p.m. Event organizers suggest finding a seat for the fireworks show after the parade wraps up. For a full schedule of daytime events head to www.visitWamego.com.
The award-winning fireworks show is at the Wamego Recreation Complex on the SW corner of Highway 24 and Balderson Blvd. Find seat between 7:30- 8:00 p.m. and enjoy a free concert by four musical groups from Ft. Riley and the First Infantry band. The 30 minute, 29 second show starts at 10:00 p.m.
