Jim Allan, Board Chairman of the Red Cross - Kansas Capital Area Chapter, announced the appointment of Jo Ann Long as the organization's new Community Chapter Executive, effective August 5. "The Board of Directors and staff of the Red Cross are thrilled to have Jo Ann step into the position," said Allan. "She brings years of non-profit experience and a great sense of professionalism and energy."
Since 2006, Long has been Development Director for the Kansas Capital Area Chapter of the American Red Cross and been committed and passionate about her fundraising efforts and leadership in the 16-county service area. She comes previously from nonprofit work with the American Lung Association.
"I am deeply honored to expand my role with the American Red Cross. I look forward to continuing the success of our great chapter," said Long. "I plan to reinforce the importance of volunteerism and support northeast Kansas through the vital work the Red Cross does each and every day."
