What Topeka Police originally thought was a bank robbery turned out to be something else.
Officers were called to the Lyndon State Bank at 15th and Fairlawn shortly after 11 this morning. Police had initially said a man tried to rob the bank and the suspect was on foot.
But after further investigation, police described the matter as an attempted forgery. Officers say the name who tried to pull off the crime is a hispanic in his twenties with a thin build and wearing a bandana.
