Shawnee County, Kan. - A scary scene at a recycling center in Shawnee County Saturday morning....after crews start destroying a truck with a worker still inside it.
It happened around 9:00am, at Bailey's Recycling Center in north Topeka.
Shawnee County Sheriff's say employee Robert Lawrenz was inside a truck that was about to be recycled.
He was in the cab of the truck when it was grabbed by a piece of machinery with a grapple....and it grabbed the truck.
Sheriff's say other people noticed Lawrenz was inside the truck and alerted the operator to stop.
Firefighters had to remove Lawrenz from the truck.
He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
