The Kansas Department of Transportation is about to set work on the bridge at the U.S. 24 and Topeka Boulevard interchange Tuesday. KDOT plans to replace the bridge there starting this week.
Work will be done from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, with some occasional Saturday work.
A marked detour will be provided for Topeka Boulevard traffic using N.W. Menninger Road, North Kansas Avenue and Lyman Road. Drivers should allow extra travel time.
The Kansas Department of Transportation has reported the closing this week of rest areas a mile west of Junction City on I-70 which is expected to save the state more than $200,000 a year.
