A former Kansas Highway Patrol trooper has been identified as one of two people killed in a helicopter crash in Alaska on Saturday.
Alaska state trooper Tage Toll died along with the pilot. Toll and the pilot were aboard a state trooper helicopter to rescue a snowmobiler late Saturday night. It was to meet up with medics following the rescue, but the chopper never arrived.
Searchers spotted the wreckage Sunday morning. Toll is from Clifton, Kansas. He had been with the Alaska state police for 10 years and was with the Kansas Highway Patrol before moving to Alaska. He's survived by his wife and three sons.
