East and Westbound lanes on the 17th St. bridge over I-470 in Topeka will be closed until the end of the week.
Work will begin Tuesday night at 6 pm and will reopen to unrestricted traffic by 6 am Friday morning.
It was scheduled to begin Monday, but was postponed due to the chance of rain.
There will be no marked detour and drivers must use alternate routes.
Some suggested alternate routes are the 21st St. bridge over I-470 or Huntoon Ave.
The scheduled completion date for the multiple I-470 bride overlay project is July 2013.
