Firefighters were on the scene of a fire at 201 N. Rice Road in Topeka Sunday evening.
Fire officials say a man at the home was working on his truck in the garage when a fire started. He called 911 and firefighters had the blaze under control within 20 minutes.
Initial police scanner reports indicated a possible explosion at or near the home. A neighbor says he heard a loud explosion. Fire officials say there was not an explosion, but the noise could have been a result of the truck's tires being blown out from the heat.
The truck and garage suffered severe damage, no reports on the extent yet.
