A former sheriff for Geary County passed away over the weekend.
The Junction City post reports Bill Deppish died Saturday night at a senior center in Junction City.
Deppish served the county for nearly 40 years. He served four terms as sheriff from 1985 to 2000. Following those duties, he had a seat on the Geary County Commission until 2008. He was 80 years old.
The funeral service will be at St. Xavier's Catholic Church in Junction City.
Memorial contributions can be given to St. Xavier's School or friends of Geary County Rural Fire Department.
