Nearly 1,000 second grade students from Shawnee County schools took part in "From Farm to You" today at the Kansas Expocentre Livestock Pavilion that started at 9 this morning.
The event is designed to teach students about agriculture's important role in daily lives of people through the food they eat and the clothes they wear.
"From Farm to You" is sponsored by K-State Research and Extension, Shawnee County and the Shawnee County Farm Bureau. The theme for this year's event was pizza.
Students visited ten learning stations to gain information about the process of growing and processing the ingredients of pizza.
The stations include beef, swine, vegetables, dairy, farm equipment, animal health, soil conservation, poultry, grains and weather.
