It's no surprise parking is nearly impossible to find in the "Big Apple" but it's also becoming an issue in the "Little Apple."
People have been frustrated with the lack of parking on Poyntz Avenue and recent construction is adding to the problem.
With the recent facelift, it's forcing people to stretch their legs even more. Currently there is nearly 400 parking spots and three larger lots in the area for people to park.
CEO of the Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce, Lyle Butler says with the city and downtown area growing so quickly it is an issue they're hitting head on.
"Parking has always been an issue and it is in the forefront," said Butler. "There are numerous city parking lots downtown, plus side streets that people use for parking. There's a supply of parking, it may be not exactly out in front of individual businesses but the city is monitoring the parking constantly."
Butler says the parking issues have hurt some businesses but city officials are hoping the changes will encourage people to focus on walking around and enjoying the beauty and not as much finding a parking spot.
