Topeka, Kan. (KSNT) - Family wants to spread awareness after rare disorder causes girl to forget one year of her life.
The mother of a Topeka girl who suffered from a rare disorder that made her forget a year of her life now wants to spread awareness about the condition.
Eleven year old Alyson Wright was diagnosed last year with a pediatric auto-immune disorder known as “Pandas.” It can be triggered by strep throat, viruses and other common infections.
Alyson talked to herself, paced back and forth in her house and had what her parents describe as a bipolar personality.
Her mother says now that Alyson is stable; she would like to see more awareness. Her mom says Alyson’s case is rare, only 10 percent of kids with this disorder get this type.
Children who have this cane have completely different reactions.
