A cold front will be moving through the Midwest today and offer us a chance at some much-needed moisture. Thunderstorms will be possible late today or this evening but severe weather here in Northeast Kansas looks unlikely. The best chance of severe weather today will be over the Great Lakes with damaging winds and a few isolated tornadoes possible from Chicago to Maine.
We may see a few stronger storms develop Saturday night or Sunday as another complex of storms moves in from Nebraska, but again, severe weather does not look likely. We may track a few hailstones or brief gusty winds but widespread severe weather looks low. We will, however, take the rain! We are more than -2.00" behind for the month of July in the rain bucket!
