TOPEKA, Kan. - One Topeka man is gearing up to help raise money for two young Topeka girls with cancer.
Nicolette Schleisman caught up with him before he rides off Monday.
This is the eighth time Eric Nordgren is getting on his bike for the Sunflowers-to-Roses to raise money for cancer patients.
Nordgren will ride about 350 miles in a heart shaped route for 6-year-old Karis Selk and 3-year-old Londyn Hibbert this year. It will be a non-stop ride around Northeast Kansas.
Nordgren says while he may be sore and tired, it is a ride he has to take.
"It's an expensive battle. And that's where I come in, I can't do much for their battle, but I can help raise awareness and perhaps to raise a few expenses," said Nordgren.
This is just the beginning of a month long of fundraising for Karis and London.
A quick-moving disturbance will give most of the area accumulating snow by Sunday.
