Washburn Head Coach Craig Schurig says his players use this as a teaching moment, and that with the right amount of determination, hard work, and perseverance, they too can earn a spot on an NFL roster.
"You realize how much work they put in," Schurig said. "It makes it nice as a coach because then your present players and they see a guy who went through the same steps that they did."
Wilhoite recorded three tackles and a pass break-up in the 49ers 15-13 win.
"And then there's that goal that if they work hard enough and have the talent, they can achieve that level too and you don't want to hold back those dreams.
